John Michael Respeto

JM Respeto   |   Technical Accounting Manager, Speaker

JM has 8 years of solid, in-depth accounting and auditing experience. He graduated Summa cum Laude and passed the Philippine CPA licensure examination in 2014. He has extensive knowledge of IFRS 15, 16, and 9 implementations and reconciliation to US GAAP. He assisted companies in ensuring compliance with accounting standards (particularly the adoption of new standards), preparing/reviewing financial
statements, internal controls assessment for SOX/PCAOB reporting, and preparing sustainability reports in accordance with emerging sustainability standards. His client portfolio includes top global companies in retail and distribution, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, healthcare, pharmaceutical, hotels, business services, not-for-profit organizations, and education. He also facilitates technical accounting training. Prior to joining Scrubbed, he was an Assurance Senior Manager at PwC Philippines with international audit experience in EY Barbados.

In addition to his accounting and auditing experience, JM is also an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) knowledge head. He has a deep understanding of ESG principles and practices.
Angel Lou Ruiz

Angel Lou Ruiz   |   Technical Accounting Senior Supervisor, Speaker

"Angel is a Senior Supervisor actively leading and working with teams on technical accounting engagements with public and private companies. She prepares technical memoranda, performs an extensive review of IFRS and US  GAAP financial statements (i.e., 10-Q and 10-K reports), including note disclosures and account reconciliations, converts financial statements from one framework to another (i.e., IFRS to US GAAP), assists in the adoption of new standards, and provides technical accounting consultations. Aside from client engagements, she conducts technical accounting training sessions and creates accounting content for Scrubbed. Before joining Scrubbed, Angel had years of professional experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Philippines leading financial statement audits, reviews, and agreed-upon procedures for various companies. While in PwC Philippines, she handled a wide array of client portfolios, including e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, services, energy, and construction companies.
Gliezel David

Gliezel David   |   Technical Accounting Senior Manager, Facilitator

Gliezel has 15 years of experience providing technical, audit, and advisory services to professional services and public and private companies. She has extensive knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and SOX/PCAOB reporting requirements. She assists companies and firms in preparing technical memorandums, adopting new standards, converting FS to IFRS/USGAAP, and preparing/reviewing FS/ SEC Forms. She also facilitates SOX and quality training and conducts quality reviews. She is the Senior Manager of the Technical Accounting Services Group of Scrubbed. Before joining Scrubbed, she was an Audit and Methodology Senior Manager at PwC Philippines. Under PwC's secondment program, she was assigned to the PwC's US offices in Connecticut and New York. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and is a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines.
